In this kitchen design idea challenge the designers were tasked with supporting Olivia who had just bought her new home and was asking for support to create the perfect kitchen concept. They were encouraged to change:
Door & Worktop Colours;
Ceiling Feature Lighting
Walls & Flooring; &
General Decor.
Before and After
Our Instagram followers, voted for this as their favourite design in a close run contest. This modern rich blue kitchen design idea with art deco touches is a fantastic improvement on the before design & has been created using the Room Creator App. This is now a stylish kitchen perfect for Olivia’s new home.
The red & burgundy that dominated the before design is now gone and has been replaced with a rich blue colour for the kitchen units. Perhaps the key feature in this room is the addition of the art deco style splashback.
The splash back is further complemented by the change in door styles and the elongated opal pendant light which hangs above the kitchen island and creates a mirroring effect.
The cleverness in this design is perhaps highlighted by the fact that the neutral toned walls have been linked to the key features by use of carefully selected and placed decor items such as the art, door colours and island seats linking the rich blue of the kitchen units and the clock frame creating a link to the the work surface of the kitchen island.
The subtle changing in flooring from a regular rectangular tile to a parquet wood effect is deceptively effective.
